Step 2:  In the upper-left area of your profile photo, tap your profile image.

Step 3:  To ensure secret conversations are enabled, go to settings and then click on the secret conversation.

Head over to your Friend chat and then click on the “i” symbol and then click on the start secret conversation.

If you are using an iPad then the process is similar to iPhone. You have to download and install the Messenger app on your iPad first.
