Step 1: Make sure that your Microsoft account is signed in. Go to settings by using Windows + I button on your keyboard and then click on the Accounts section.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Your info’ button from the right side window.
Step 3: Now, click on the Manage my Microsoft account button. It will open a new tab in your browser (depending on your default browser).
Step 4: Sign in to your Microsoft account with your username and password.
Step 5: Click on your info button in the menu bar.
Step 6: Now click on the edit name button.
Step 7: Edit your name here, enter the required captcha, and click on save.

Step 2: This netplwiz command will open user account settings. Double click on the username that you want to change.
Step 3: Now, enter the new username and click on the ok button to change your username.

You can also use the command prompt to change the local account name in Windows 11. You have to use a few commands for this. Here are the steps.
Step 1: Open the start menu and then search for cmd. Now from the result, click on the “Run as administrator” button to open CMD as admin.
Step 2: Click on the yes button to open CMD as admin.
Step 3: In the command prompt, type the below command and then press enter.
wmic useraccount get fullname, name
Step 4: Type the following command to rename your current username in Windows 11.
wmic useraccount where name=”Veronica” rename “Windows11username”
Step 5: Restart your PC to apply the new changes.
