Screenshots are now part of our everyday life, and with Microsoft Windows, you don’t need to use 3rd party screenshot tools. Microsoft has introduced a snipping tool with Windows 7 that allows you to take screenshots with a single click. With Windows 11, Microsoft redesigned the Snipping tool with a new feature and a new UI.

Here are some easy ways to access the Snipping tool in Windows 11.
A keyboard shortcut is the fastest way to access the Snipping tool in Windows 11. You can use the Windows button key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool. When you press these shortcuts, you will see four icons at the top of your screen, as shown below.
You have to select the option according to your need:
Rectangular Snip: Use this option when you want to take a screenshot of the rectangle screen. Select the option > left mouse click > drag a rectangular area of the screen, and it’s done.
Freeform Snip: This option allows you to take a screenshot of the custom area of any shape.
Window Snip: If you want to capture a screenshot of any app, then use this Windows Snip mode.
Full-screen Snip: If you want to take a screenshot of your entire screen, use this full-screen snip mode.
If you want to cancel the Snipping process, press the X icon or press the ESC key on your keyboard.
Once done, you will see a notification at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Click on the notification to open the screenshot if you want to edit in the Snipping Tool window.
The amazing thing is when you take a screenshot with a snipping tool; the image is automatically added to the clipboard.
You can directly paste that image into your chat, mail, or website.
You can also edit your screenshot. You can share it, save it and print the screenshot.
You can open the Snipping tool using the search menu. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Windows start menu with the Windows key on your keyboard to open the start menu on Windows 11.
Step 2: Search for the snipping tool and click on the first result.
Step 3: The snipping tool will open on your screen. Just select the mode and take a snap.
Step 4: Click the ‘New’ button to take the screenshot with your newly selected option.
