How to Fix Microsoft Store Not Opening on Windows 11 PC

If you have installed Windows 11 and your Microsoft store stopped working then this article is for you. In this article, we are going to share how to fix the Microsoft Store Not Opening issue on Windows 11.

Method 1. Check the Internet Connection

A good internet connection is required for all Microsoft services including Windows update and the Microsoft store. If you are internet is slow or not working then you are most likely to face issues like the Microsoft store not working or not opening. So before applying any solution, first check if your internet is working fine or not.

You can check your internet connection settings with Android or iOS apps. Follow these steps to improve your connection.

Step 1:  Press the Windows button on your keyboard to open the start menu and click on Settings. You can also press the Windows + I button on your keyboard to access Windows 11 settings directly.

Step 2: In the Windows 11 settings, find Network & internet option in the left sidebar.

Step 3: Here check the status of your ethernet connection. It should be Connected.

You can also use the ping command to check if servers are running and up or not.

If you are new to the ping command then open a command prompt. (Open the Windows search menu and then search for the command prompt. Right-click on it and choose run as admin)

Step 4: In the command prompt window, type the following command.

ping google.com

Step 5: Here check loss percentages. A high percentage of packet loss means slow or damaged internet connection. If you are getting a ping of 80-100ms then the internet connection is not good.

Method 2. Reset Store Cache

You can easily remove the Microsoft store cache to solve the issue. It is the best option to fix broken or corrupted files from your cache memory. You have to follow the below commands.

Open the start menu and then search for wsreset. This command will open a new terminal window.

Once finished, the Microsoft store cache will be removed automatically. Restart your PC and see if your Microsoft store is working or not.

Method 3. Re-register Microsoft Store

As you already know, Microsoft Store is a system application. So you can’t download or remove it. But you can re-register the Microsoft store app. Note that it is not a good idea but if you are facing issues with the Microsoft store then you have to do it. The re-register process will solve all the system bugs and problems.

Step 1: Open the Windows Start menu with the Windows button on your keyboard and then search for PowerShell.

Step 2: From the results, right-click on PowerShell and then choose Run as administrator. Or select the Run as administrator option in the right sidebar.

Step 3: Now in the PowerShell window, execute this command and press enter.

Once done, restart your computer and try to access Windows Store. See if it is working or not.

Method 4. Use Windows Store Troubleshooter

Microsoft is has launched the new built-in troubleshooter for Microsoft Store. You can find this new feature in Windows 11. You have to follow some steps to open a Windows store troubleshooter.

Step 1: Open Windows settings with Windows + I button on your keyboard.

Step 2: In Windows 11 settings, find and click on Troubleshoot option in the right sidebar.

Step 3: In the troubleshoot section, find options and then choose Other troubleshooters.

Step 4: Scroll down and find Windows Store Apps. Then click on Run.

Step 5: You have to wait for some time as it is running.

If the troubleshooter manages to identify the issue, it will show up here and you will be given the options to resolve it.

Method 5. Reset or Repair the Microsoft Store Application

One of the easiest methods of fixing Microsoft Store not working is just simply resetting or repairing the application using the App settings menu.

First, open up settings by right-clicking on the Start button on your Taskbar and selecting ‘Settings’. Or press the Windows + I button on your keyboard to open Windows 11 settings.

On the Settings window select Apps from the left panel and then select Apps & Features from the right panel.

After that, scroll down until you find Microsoft Store and click on the 3 vertical dots on the opposite side of the text.

Now, click on Advanced options.

After clicking on ‘Advanced options’ if you scroll down, you will get the option to ‘Repair’ or ‘Reset’ the Microsoft Store application.
