Microsoft has implemented the Secure Boot option with Windows 10 OS for security measures. By default, the option is disabled, and you can easily turn on secure boot for Windows 11. Here is a complete guide for that.

As we mentioned, Secure boot is connected with UEFI. If your PC supports UEFI, then it has a Secure Boot feature. It offers awesome security features that allow only trusted and verified software components by Microsoft. It is very important to enable Secure Boot. The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a technology that provides hardware-based security features. A TPM chip is a safe crypto-processor that performs cryptographic operations to protect your PC against malicious softwares.
You don’t need to become an expert or contact the Microsoft support team to turn on secure boot in Windows 11. Now before changing the option, you have to change your Windows boot mode to UEFI.
Here are the steps to check if your computer is running with UEFI mode or BIOS mode. Before trying and checking these steps, make sure to take a backup of all important files.
1) Press Windows + R to open the Run command box.
2) Type this “MSInfo32” command box and then press enter.
3) This command will open a system information window.
Here you will check all the details regarding your BIOS. The value shows the Secure Boot status. “On” shows that it is enabled, “Off” means that it is deactivated, and “Unsupported” indicates that your hardware does not support Secure Boot.
Don’t worry if you’re not a gadget geek; you can easily enable this secure boot option if you follow the step-by-step instructions. To keep in mind, you must first convert the boot mode to UEFI before enabling the safe boot function. If you don’t know if your laptop or your PC supports secure boot or not, then check the previous steps to check it. Once you have checked it, follow the below steps to enable secure boot.
Step 1: Open the start menu with the Windows button. Now search for the Advanced startup.
Step 2: Select Change advanced startup options from the list.
Step 3: Select Advanced startup in the advanced startup options and then click on the restart now button.
Step 4: Once you click on restart now, your PC will restart, and you will see a list of options.
Step 5: From the listed options, select troubleshoot.
Step 6: Select Advanced options.
Step 7: Now, select UEFI Firmware Settings.
Step 8: Now, your computer will restart, and you will see BIOS options.
Step 9: Go to the Security window from all options.
Step 10: Here, search and find the Secure Boot option using your keyboard, and change its value to enable from disable.
