HMD global is launching its flagship phones dubbed Nokia 6 (2018 version), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco. The Nokia 8 Sirocco is going to be a flagship product by them and is expected to compete with the giants like Samsung and likes. This new series of devices launched at MWC and are a part of Android One program. Android One is a program where Google has promised to bring faster updates to the devices. It means that all the three devices will be running on Android Oreo 8.1.0 version out of the box and will be updated time to time for a better security and stability. All three devices will be sporting Gorilla glass and Carl Zeiss lens making it a sturdy device for a camera lover fans.
As India is one of the top three country, HMD is set to launch the device in India first. Nokia 6 (2018 version) is set to launch on 6th April while Nokia 7+and Nokia 8 will be available on a pre-booking from April 20th 2018 and will be available in the market from 30th April. While Nokia 6 will be available from retail outlet and Nokia shop, Nokia 7+ will be available from Amazon India and Nokia shop and Nokia 8 Sirocco will be launched on Flipkart and selected offline shops. Indian users should be excited to receive all the devices before the end of the April month. All the devices i.e. Nokia 6, Nokia 7+ and Nokia 8 are priced at ₹. 16,999, ₹. 25,999 and ₹. 49,999 respectively. Let’s dive into the features of each and every devices.

The Nokia 6 (2018) runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo version out of the box. It sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It makes a device complete when it comes to full-HD display. Underneath it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC chipset processor accompanied with 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB inbuilt storage. Nokia 6 is a perfect for a selfie lover and photographers on a budget. It has a 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash and Zeiss optics camera. It ensures you get the perfect photo in all the light condition. The front case houses 8MP camera. All such powerful features are backed with 3000mAh battery to ensure you get the maximum amount of time with your device. It also comes with Bluetooth v5.0, USB type-c cable, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS/ A-GPS. The Nokia 6 is priced at ₹. 16,999 and will be available from 6th April 2018.
Nokia 6 2018 is a good upgrade from the previous year. The carl zeiss camera offers a crisp clear pictures. It is a perfect companion of a photographer and a videographer. You can take full-HD videos as well. The dual LED flash light is ideal for low light photo capture. On the other hand the type-c port supports fast charging. Although 3000mAh is not something to boast about, you will still feel good with type-c cable. The storage can be expanded upto 128GB using microSD external card. Nokia 6 also supports 4G VoLTE for better connectivity and internet speed. In a nutshell, the Nokia 6 has enough punch to compete in a mid segment smartphone section.
The Nokia 7+ is a significant upgrade to predecessor Nokia 6. It comes with Android 8.1.0 out of the box. It sports 6-inch full-HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass. Perhaps, this is the first ever smartphone from Nokia with such a high resolution display and aspect ratio. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC chipset processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. The internal storage can be expanded to 256GB using the microSD slot. Nokia 7+ comes with a 12MP wide angle camera and is accompanied with 13MP camera. The carl zeiss camera comes with 2x zoom facility. It is supported by dual-tone dual-LED flash to make it capable to take 2160p videos in any condition. The front camera is of 16MP selfie shooter. The Nokia 7 Plus has 3800 mAh battery with a Type-C 1.0 port for a fast charging.
Nokia 7+ also has a smart amplifier. The device will be available for pre-booking from 20th April 2018. There will be a detailed post on the features of the device soon.
The Nokia 8 is a premium flagship product. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. The Nokia 8 Sirocco sports a 5.5-inch QHD (1440 x 2560 pixels) curved OLED display with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass. It has a curvy display putting in a category of iPhone X and likes of Samsung Galaxy S8/S9. Nokia 8 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Soc chipset processor, whopping 6GB RAM and internal storage of 128GB. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. Nokia 8 has a camera features similar to that of Nokia 7 Plus. It comes with dual-camera of 12MP and 13MP with dual-tone dual-LED flash. It also comes with 2x optical zoom feature making it possible to capture minute details. The front facing camera is of 5MP which could be a let down for many selfie lover. The rear camera can shoot a video of upto 2560p or 4k while the front facing camera only supports 1080p video. Honestly, this is more than sufficient is most of the environment.
Nokia 8 also comes with a fast charging support. The 3260 mAh battery comes with a Quick Charge 4.0 support. A type-c cable will be useful in quicker charging of the device. It comes with a glass on the front and back side with Gorilla Glass 5. The device supports Qi charging.
Nokia 8, dubbed as Sirocco, will be a premium segment device and is likely to compete with Mi Max 2, Honor view 10 and other upcoming devices. It will be available for preorder on 20th April on Flipkart and selected retail stores. Unfortunately, the price tag of Rs. 49,999 is a bit let down for many Nokia lovers.
