Microsoft has changed somany new things in Windows 11. The final version of Windows 11 is about to launch in Nov 2021. Here is how you can hide or remove Windows 11 build number on the Desktop.

Sometimes it is a good idea to show a Windows 11 build number on the Desktop. This feature is now new. You can also do the same with Windows 7, 8, and Windows 10.
The below steps uses the registry edit process. So we recommend you to take a complete backup of all your data.
Step 1: Open the start menu and then search for regedit in the search area.
Step 2: Now, click on the registry editor.
Step 3: You can also use the Windows + R command to open the Run menu and type the same “regedit” command. This command will open a registry editor window.
Step 4: Here, you have to find the correct registry file in the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Step 5: You can directly go to this path using the registry editor navigation bar.
Step 6: In the right side window, find PaintDesktopVersion.
Step 7: Right-click on it and then select modify.
Step 8: If you want to show the build number, you must change the value to 1.
Step 9: Then click on ok, and it’s done.
Lastly, restart your PC to apply new changes.
Once restarted, you will sew Windows 11 build number on the desktop right corner.
If you want to hide Windows 11 build details then follow these steps:
Step 1: Open registry editor and then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop location,
Step 2: Now find the PaintDesktopVersion option and then right-click on it.
Step 3: Select modify and set the value to 0.
Step 4: Click on the ok button and restart your PC.
