The upcoming Tomb Raider series featuring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft is facing serious allegations after the British Health and Safety Authority uncovered health violations during filming. Project Temple Solutions, the production company, reportedly failed to follow essential safety regulations.
According to Deadline, crew members were found without necessary protective gear while handling paints that contain isocyanates, substances known to cause respiratory issues such as asthma if inhaled. Regulations mandate that workers must vacate the area for at least 20 minutes after using these paints, a requirement that must be strictly enforced by employers.
In April, the Health and Safety Authority issued a warning to Project Temple, which acted to address the violations within a month. The Health and Safety Authority has inspected only four filming sites in the past four years, making the Tomb Raider series one of the largest productions they have evaluated.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Amazon MGM has yet to comment publicly on the violations. Amazon MGM has not addressed whether the violations will affect the production schedule or require additional safety measures. As filming progresses, strict adherence to health regulations is crucial not only for the safety of the cast but also for preserving the production’s reputation.
