SiMa.ai, a physical AI chip developer, reaches $1.45B valuation

SiMa.ai, a startup building AI chips and software for robots, drones, cameras, and other edge devices, has raised $150 million in a Series C round at a $1.45 billion valuation. This round was co-led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and Amplify, with additional contributions from Alter Venture Partners, Dell Technologies Capital, and StepStone Group.

Founded in 2018 by Krishna Rangasayee, who previously served as COO of chipmaker Groq, SiMa.ai makes energy-efficient chips that run AI inference directly on the device, eliminating round-trips to the cloud.

The company aims to tap into the expanding market for physical AI devices, including humanoid robots, by offering products that promise low-latency performance at a lower cost than Nvidia’s GPUs. With this recent funding, SiMa.ai has now raised over $500 million in total, up from a previous valuation of $960 million after securing $85 million in its Series B round in July 2025.
