The Beekeeper 2 officially reveals first trailer with Statham going wild
The Beekeepers have gone rogue, and Adam Clay is taking the fight to his own organization. The first trailer for The Beekeeper 2 sees Jason Statham return as the super-assassin who, according to Jeremy Irons’ character, “is the only one who can stop them.”
Irons lays out the stakes: the Beekeepers “want complete control of the government, and they’re prepared to kill anyone who gets in their way.” Clay chooses Beekeeper-on-Beekeeper justice, with some suitably bee-themed firepower to help him along.

Polygon’s highlight is a scene in which Statham shoves a flamethrower into a henchman’s mouth before saying, “Next time, don’t be so hotheaded.” The outlet enthusiastically singles it out as the trailer’s peak.
The sequel also introduces Pom Klementieff to the series. Her credits include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. She joins the follow-up to The Beekeeper, the surprise-hit revenge thriller from 2024.
Who’s making The Beekeeper 2?
Timo Tjahjanto is directing the sequel, replacing David Ayer, whom Polygon calls an action movie legend. Ayer directed The Beekeeper and previously collaborated with Statham on The Working Man. Despite handing over directing duties, he continues to watch for updates about The Beekeeper 2.
Writing duties have also shifted. Kurt Wimmer, who wrote the original, spent some time working on the sequel before the screenplay passed to Kate writer Umair Aleem. Wimmer is still expected to be credited.
With The Night Comes for Us and The Shadow Strays among Tjahjanto’s credits, Polygon characterizes him as a gore-oriented director. That reputation helped fuel expectations for an even more intense sequel following the first footage shown at CinemaCon earlier this year, despite the original already having plenty of shocking scenes. In Polygon’s assessment, the trailer delivers on those expectations and will surely leave Statham fans wanting more.
The Beekeeper 2 is scheduled to open in movie theaters on Jan. 15, 2027.
