Titanium Court launches on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 on Oct. 29, following its April release on Windows PC. The award-winning indie is also coming to Android and iPhone, though the announcement doesn’t specify a mobile release date.
Developer AP Thomson’s game won both Excellence in Design and the Seumas McNally Grand Prize at this year’s Independent Game Festival before it even launched. The latter is a top honor for indie games, and the win made Thomson the first developer to receive it two years in a row. He also won in 2025 for Consume Me, which he co-developed with Jenny Jiao Hsia.
So what does Titanium Court actually play like? It combines a roguelike, a tower defense game, a match-three puzzler, and an old-school PC adventure game. It’s a tricky blend to describe, held together by an absurd story with some Shakespearean undertones.
You play a character whisked away to a kingdom of faeries in the middle of a war. To protect it, you manage an ever-shifting battlefield, repositioning defenses and matching tiles to collect resources. The puzzles aren’t separate from the fighting; they’re part of how you defend the kingdom.
Following its April launch, Titanium Court earned an aggregate score of 85 on Metacritic. Polygon’s review that month called it an “inventive work of comedy that’s a joy to outwit.” The publication also described it as a financial hit for indie publisher Fellow Traveller and suggested that a release on more platforms could give the game a crucial second wind ahead of awards season. That’s a possibility, not a guarantee.
Players without a gaming PC can try it on either Switch model or PS5 starting Oct. 29. Those waiting for the Android and iPhone versions don’t yet have a release date in the announcement.
