Mafia: The Old Country
PS5 – Oct. 20.
The latest Mafia game is a prequel set in early 1900s Sicily, inspired by the origins of the Sicilian Mafia. You play as Enzo Favara, who becomes entangled with the Torrisi crime family. Originally released as a $50 single-player game, it’s a rare example of that price point from a big publisher.
Beyond the crime and shooting, the game addresses real-world labor issues and poverty that affected Italians in the early 20th century. In his 2025 review, Polygon’s Giovanni Colantonio, whom the publication describes as a proud Italian, wrote: “Mafia: The Old Country is a sobering reminder that tough times still create a breeding ground for exploitation today, just as they did in Sicily,”
