GTA 6 Leaker Threatens to Spoil Story if Caught

GTA 6 leaker Cyberleek threatens story spoilers if caught, claiming a “dead man's switch” is active. The claim remains unverified.

Cyberleek has threatened to publish Grand Theft Auto 6 story spoilers if caught, claiming that “the dead man’s switch is active.” The threat accompanies a failed $30 million crypto fundraising goal and a decision not to release what Cyberleek describes as the full game build. The source report verifies neither the claimed switch nor possession of a complete, distributable campaign.

In a message accompanying its latest unofficial footage, Cyberleek, which could be one person or several people, claimed to know the game’s ending. It said it had considered revealing that ending to “punish Take-Two greatly,” but argued that doing so would ruin the experience for players. Cyberleek says it has so far published only out-of-context clips from the final missions.

That restraint has a condition: Cyberleek says story spoilers will become public if it is caught. The footage suggests access to game material, but it doesn’t establish that Cyberleek can deliver everything it claims to hold or that an automatic release mechanism exists.

The latest videos include new hairstyles, additional clothing customization, and Lucia picking up a joint that goes into her “Cigarettes & Drugs” inventory tab. They also contain what might be the first glimpse of the tie-in uniforms the Miami Heat will wear. Other clips appear to come from what is presumably the final mission, “The End of the Road.” Reddit users have posted descriptions of the footage, including potential story spoilers.

Cyberleek’s crypto campaign forms a separate part of the same message. It previously asked players for “a donation,” promising additional GTA 6 clips at specified milestones and eventually the entire game. It now says it won’t release the full build because its $30 million goal wasn’t met.

Earlier releases included footage of co-protagonist Lucia naked. Polygon reports that the Cyberleek coin’s market capitalization subsequently fell sharply. That sequence provides the financial backdrop to the latest announcement, but it doesn’t verify Cyberleek’s claimed access to the full build.

Blaming skepticism and influencers for the campaign’s reception, Cyberleek said: “Sad, the negativity – and how few believe anything real is behind this. CL was transparent about the token from day one: a donation, never an investment,” Cyberleek said. “It changed nothing – influencers decided the story before the facts arrived. The Edict stands. The leeks stop here. For now.”

If Cyberleek follows through on that statement, it won’t publish further leaks before launch. Polygon’s Austin Manchester asks whether an arrest by authorities, as has happened with other hacking groups, would trigger the claimed release or expose it as an empty threat. For now, the claim is conditional, not an announcement that the ending is about to be published.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for official release on Nov. 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Whether Cyberleek’s claimed switch can release story material before then remains unverified.
