Meta is extending its AI agent Muse to support small businesses

Meta announced on Tuesday that it’s expanding its AI agent Muse to small businesses and adding new integrations including Shopify, Dropbox, Slack, and more. This initiative is designed to help business owners manage their operations and attract new customers.

By embedding Muse into the software that small business owners already use for sales, operations, and marketing, Meta believes this AI agent will offer more value than a standalone chatbot. This approach highlights Meta’s strategy to compete with tech giants such as OpenAI and Google.

Muse connects with various tools, including Instagram professional account analytics, Facebook Pages, and Meta ad accounts. The AI agent understands the products a business offers, the brand’s voice, and common customer inquiries. These features make Muse a more integrated solution for businesses aiming to streamline their workflows.

Additional integrations for Muse include Asana, Box, Canva, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Stripe, and Zoom, providing a comprehensive toolkit for small business owners.

Muse for Small Business is available for free with usage limits. Businesses that need more capabilities can opt for a subscription plan to extend their usage. This accessibility aligns with Meta’s goal of empowering small businesses, which have been thriving on its platforms for nearly two decades. Meta stated, “Small businesses have been growing on our apps for nearly two decades. They told us they’re short on hours, not ideas. So we built Muse for Small Business to help get work done with the tools they already use.”

The launch of Muse for Small Business reflects Meta’s ongoing commitment to expanding its AI tools beyond consumer applications and into the enterprise sector. This shift is further emphasized by the introduction of the “Meta Enterprise Platform,” which aims to enhance the company’s AI capabilities for businesses and corporate clients.

To lead this new initiative, Meta has brought on Chirantan “CJ” Desai, the former CEO of MongoDB. The company plans to utilize its full technology stack, including Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code, to provide businesses and developers with powerful tools.

Muse’s integration with popular tools like Shopify, Dropbox, and Slack not only enhances small business operations but also positions Meta to effectively compete with established players in the AI space. With a wide range of functionalities embedded directly into the software that businesses already use, Muse is set to redefine how companies streamline their workflows and engage with customers.
