For iPhone enthusiasts seeking a budget-friendly alternative, recent news will be inspiring. This past Thursday, it was revealed through a tweet by freelance coder Nguyen Phi Hung, alongside details shared by Phone Arena, that the upcoming iPhone SE 4 is set to offer premium features at a reduced price.
The new model is anticipated to include several upgrades from its predecessor, the 2022 iPhone SE. Significantly, the iPhone SE 4 will sport a larger 6.1-inch OLED display and introduce Face ID, a departure from the previous model’s 4.7-inch screen and physical home button, which was styled after the iPhone 8.
iPhone SE 4 rumored specifications:
— Nguyen Phi Hung (@negativeonehero) April 7, 2024
– Size and weight: 148.5 x 71.2 x 7.8mm, 166g
– Appearance: 7000 series aluminium alloy, right-angled frame, front and rear glass (no Ceramic Shield). Front looks like iPhone 13, with Face ID support; back looks like Xr, with one camera.
In terms of aesthetics, the iPhone SE 4 borrows heavily from the iPhone 13 and iPhone XR designs. It retains the singular camera setup typical of SE models but mimics the iPhone XR’s back appearance. The phone is also expected to feature the A16 Bionic processor—a powerful chip found in the iPhone 15—alongside a USB-C charging port and a display with a 60Hz refresh rate.
These enhancements make the iPhone SE 4 a compelling option for those who desire the Apple experience without the high cost associated with the most advanced models. As someone who has used the 2020 iPhone SE, the prospect of upgrading to the new SE model sounds promising—even desirable immediately.
