Google unveils Gemini 4 Argon, its most powerful model to date

Gemini 4 Argon has officially launched as Google’s latest AI model, designed to handle tasks like coding, research, and writing. Google states that Argon excels at autonomously identifying, validating, and patching critical software vulnerabilities.

The rollout of Gemini 4 Argon is being carefully controlled; it’s currently available only to a select group of Google’s cyber partners through the Fairwind Program, part of the company’s broader security initiative.

Employees have integrated Argon into their daily workflows, utilizing it for debugging and migrating codebases. Argon also has impressive capabilities in visual analysis, able to parse complex content such as long videos and charts.

Google claims that Argon has outperformed OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra and Anthropic’s Fable and Opus models across multiple AI benchmarks. According to data from Vals, a rising AI benchmarking startup, Argon currently holds the top spot on the company’s AI model index.

The company recently announced that its app now boasts over a billion monthly users, positioning it strongly alongside OpenAI, which has also reached a similar milestone for ChatGPT.
