Etched, the AI chip startup that raised $700 million at a $21 billion valuation just a couple of months ago, is already fielding acquisition or investment bids ranging from $40 billion to $50 billion, according to people familiar with the company.
1. $40 billion offer
Etched is reviewing incoming bids that range from $40 billion from top-tier investors to $50 billion from lesser-known backers, according to sources familiar with the company. These fundraising talks are early, so terms of any deal, should one happen, may change.
2. $50 billion offer
In addition to the $40 billion offer from prominent investors, the company is also considering a higher bid of $50 billion from lesser-known backers. This comes shortly after Etched’s recent funding round, where it raised $700 million at a valuation of $21 billion.
