Elon Musk’s children’s mother claims she has been “let go” by him

Shivon Zilis, who has had four children with Elon Musk over the past five years, recently shared that she feels she has been “let go” by the billionaire. This revelation came via a post on Musk’s social media platform, X, where Zilis expressed her feelings about the abrupt end of their relationship.

In her post, Zilis stated, “It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s just how it is sometimes.” Her choice of words feels more akin to discussing a job termination rather than the end of a romantic relationship. She also mentioned, “I feel happy that I got to show Elon how it feels to be deeply understood, nurtured, and peacefully loved with stability and gentleness.” This comment raises eyebrows in light of their breakup.

Just three days before Zilis’s announcement, Musk attended a lavish state dinner at the White House, honoring Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Zilis cryptically tweeted “new day, new life,” hinting at possible changes in her relationship status. She also shared a screenshot of a message from Musk, in which he noted he would have invited her to dinner had he known it included a significant other.

Elon Musk, who has 14 known children with four different women, has faced criticism for how he refers to the mothers of his children. His first wife, Justine Musk, revealed that he often calls them “breeders” and views them as “interchangeable.” This context adds complexity to Zilis’s situation and her statement about being let go.

The dynamics surrounding Zilis’s post hint at unsettling power imbalances, especially given Musk’s well-documented history with women, which includes allegations of sexual harassment and a tumultuous custody battle with his ex, Claire “Grimes” Boucher. Speculation surrounds Zilis’s motives for her statement, suggesting she might be trying to navigate her exit from the relationship with Musk in a less confrontational way, possibly to avoid any fallout from a man known for his vengeful tendencies.
