Daft Punk provides the soundtrack and the closing cameo for LEGO’s 2026 annual holiday ad. Directed by Michael Gracey of The Greatest Showman, the 74-second commercial plays out to Daft Punk’s 2000 hit “One More Time,” with Marvel heroes, an extraterrestrial and several other familiar faces joining in.
Daft Punk appears as LEGO figures at the end, alongside their iconic LEGO pyramid stage. The accompanying set came through LEGO Ideas and is based on Daft Punk’s stage design from their 2007 “Alive” tour. Their contribution isn’t limited to the soundtrack: the ad gives their stage a LEGO counterpart, too.
Marvel gets plenty of screen time, with glimpses of more than a few characters, primarily Thor, Dr. Doom and Mystique. You can also spot Falcon and Magneto, while other characters appear in the background or in blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments. Nerdist links that prominent presence to the many LEGO sets Marvel characters have been part of over the years. There’s also a crop of new releases this year as Doomsday approaches and, in the outlet’s assessment, this phase of the MCU heats up.
One of those releases is the Avengers: Doomsday New Avengers Tower. The accompanying LEGO and Marvel Studios image shows the New Avengers gathered around the building, with Dr. Doom peering down threateningly from near the top.
Outside Marvel, Derpy Tiger from the smash-hit film KPop Demon Hunters appears front and center several times. E.T. the Extraterrestrial, from the much older hit film of the same name, gets a cameo, too. There’s also a brief appearance by Tony Tony Chopper from One Piece, which Nerdist’s writer picks as their favorite moment.
Nerdist welcomes LEGO’s push into partnerships across the entertainment industry, from anime to live-action movies, describing the company as leaning hard into those collaborations. You can catch the fleeting cameos and Daft Punk’s finale in the full holiday commercial.
