Breaking Bad Star RJ Mitte Dies at 34

Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte, who played Walter White Jr. (Flynn) in every season, has died at 34. His representatives confirmed his death in Texas.

RJ Mitte, who portrayed Walter White Jr., also known as Flynn, in every season of Breaking Bad, has died at age 34. His representatives confirmed that he died in Brownsville, Texas, but did not disclose a cause.

Mitte’s representatives said in a statement, “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte.” Alongside his acting work, Mitte advocated for disability rights. He lived with cerebral palsy and used his public profile to raise awareness of the cause.

Mitte was born in 1992 and was 15 when he began filming AMC’s Breaking Bad. He stayed with the show through its full run. Flynn frequently appeared in breakfast scenes, unaware that his father, Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, was turning into a monster. The source describes Flynn as one of the few characters in the series who remained entirely sympathetic throughout.

He served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s, and led The Mitte Foundation as president. The foundation supports philanthropic work and community initiatives. Outside Breaking Bad, Mitte starred in Love Me Dead in 2024 and Westhampton in 2025. He had recently completed the film Talking to Stangers and appeared on podcasts to promote it.

Last year, Mitte announced his engagement to his longtime partner, Kennedy Suarez. They had been dating since 2018.
