Nscale and Anthropic discuss another $45 billion compute deal

Anthropic and Nscale are in talks over a second $45 billion compute deal, Bloomberg reports. Negotiations remain ongoing, with no deal finalized.

Anthropic and AI infrastructure provider Nscale are discussing another $45 billion compute deal, but nothing has been finalized. Bloomberg reports that the companies are close to an announcement, according to people familiar with the matter. Those sources cautioned that negotiations are still under way and the details could change.

The talks follow an earlier $45 billion compute agreement between the two companies. The latest figure refers to a potential second deal, not another signed commitment or computing capacity already delivered.

If completed, the agreement would add to Anthropic’s string of huge compute deals over the past year. We’ve reached out to Nscale and Anthropic for more information and will update this story if we hear back.

That spending spree has drawn financial scrutiny. The money pouring into AI computing has worried some investors, who question whether companies are spending too much for too little profit. Anthropic has continued pursuing these partnerships despite those concerns, driven by its belief that they will pay off in the end.

Both companies are also currently pursuing initial public offerings. Anthropic is still expected to go public in 2026. Nscale’s listing plans face a valuation hurdle: Bloomberg reported that investors are pushing back against its proposed $30 billion valuation.
