November’s biggest game releases beyond GTA 6

November’s biggest game releases beyond GTA 6

Skipping GTA 6? Explore November’s biggest game releases beyond Rockstar’s open-world crime epic, with picks for players looking for something different.

November has fewer game releases than usual because many developers have moved their games out of November entirely to avoid getting lost in the attention around Grand Theft Auto 6. Even so, Polygon expects there’ll be options for players who aren’t interested in Rockstar’s open-world crime game.

Polygon predicts GTA 6 will dominate the month for millions of players, becoming a cultural event comparable to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in 2020. For anyone skipping Vice City, this partial selection covers some of November 2026’s other highlights.

Gravhounds

Release date: Nov. 2, in early access
Where to play: Windows PC, Xbox Series X

In Gravhounds, you and your friends control gun-toting dogs forced to shoot their way through an alien planet. Base building and physics that let you bend gravity round out the upcoming co-op shooter’s premise.

It stood out to Polygon amid the packed Gamescom Opening Night Live broadcast. The publication says that mix of mechanics could make it a goofy multiplayer hit.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered

Release date: Nov. 3

Where to play: Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X

This cult-classic kaiju brawler returns 24 years after its debut, remastered and with online multiplayer. Polygon says GameCube-era players will remember the original mostly for its iconic cover art.

Beyond that artwork, Polygon describes Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee as a surprisingly fun casual fighting game filled with classic monsters, and recommends it to newcomers.

World of Warcraft: Forever

Release date: Nov. 4

Where to play: Windows PC

Retro graphics don’t mean recycled adventures in World of Warcraft: Forever. Blizzard is building an all-new version of its long-running MMO, described by Polygon as legendary, with brand-new content and a look rooted in the 2000s.

Polygon’s argument is that players get more WoW, in the form they remember from its heyday. For players attached to that era, the publication calls it a dream come true and arguably as big a deal as GTA 6.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Release date: Nov. 5

Where to play: Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo’s answer to a November without GTA 6 on Switch 2 is, in Polygon’s view, the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The publication frames it as a major counter-programming choice.

Polygon ranks the original as the greatest game ever made. This modern makeover brings dreamy visuals, modernized controls, and a jump button.

Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School

Release date: Nov. 5

Where to play: PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X

Former real-world escape-room designers are behind the rooms you’ll tackle with a friend in Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School. Polygon picks this multiplayer puzzle game as the best alternative for players disappointed by GTA 6’s lack of co-op.

You can also play together in local split screen. That’s why Polygon pitches it as a couples game, with a nod to GTA 6’s Jason and Lucia.

Warhammer Survivors

Release date: Nov. 10

Where to play: Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X

The team behind Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is making Warhammer Survivors. Polygon describes the concept as a Warhammer take on Vampire Survivors.

Polygon calls Boltgun excellent and says the studio has already proven it can work Warhammer lore into a good retro genre game.

Barbie Rewind

Release date: Nov. 12

Where to play: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X

Barbie Rewind collects tons of beloved Barbie games released between 1991 and 2007. Its good-natured tone contrasts with the hyper-violent crime simulator that GTA 6 offers, which makes it, in Polygon’s view, possibly November’s smartest counter-programming.

Someone raised on Barbie: Super Model and similar games might treat this release as their own GTA 6, Polygon suggests.

Sonic Pico Park

Release date: Nov. 12

Where to play: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Windows PC

For Sonic the Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary this year, Sega is releasing Sonic Pico Park. It brings Sonic to a spin-off of the multiplayer Pico Park series.

Cooperation drives this 2D puzzle platformer: players work together to solve co-op puzzles. Polygon expects that teamwork to test friendships, with plenty of opportunities to curse your pals.

Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy

Release date: Nov. 12

Where to play: Nintendo Switch 2

The latest game moving from Switch to a Switch 2 Edition is Pikmin 4. Polygon welcomes the choice, praising the strategy game’s rewarding creature-commanding and cheerful atmosphere as reasons it ranks among the Switch’s best.

Alongside the update comes Dandori Academy. This challenge mode divides its tests into stages, putting your ability to organize to work.

Milki Delivery

Release date: Nov. 17

Where to play: Windows PC

Your cows supply the milk and your bicycle handles the deliveries in Milki Delivery. Running a dairy delivery service in this 2D indie game takes you through scenic countryside to bring milk straight from your cows to local residents.

Polygon compares its inviting atmosphere to a Studio Ghibli film.
