AT&T Keeps iPhone Exclusive for Another Six Months

As reported by DigitalMediaWire, AT&T has signed a new deal with Apple to keep the iPhone exclusive to the carrier for another six months.

The deal came about because of the contract-free data plan offered to iPad 3G users.

Business Insider stated that the contract was due for expiration in the summer but will extend to 2011 with this new contract.

Reporting also is that the no-contract plan offered for iPad users was the reason that Apple was willing to sign on for the deal.

Well, this all but seals that Apple will not be revealing a new Verizon iPhone in June this year along with the new model.

The CDMA version that would support the Verizon network has been speculated for years and would be a true ace in the hole for Verizon.
