Microsoft unveiled  its new smart phone targeted operating system named The windows 7 phone series today .The company aims to reclaim its crown in the smart phone os segement which is quite in danger as  apple ,blackberry and Google’s Android  are giving it tough time resulting in its downfall from almost 25% to 9% of the overall market share.

The windows 7 phone series would have tiles based interface and one could have live access to Facebook ,Zune,Xbox live and their own search engine bing.

Microsoft’s ceo Mr. Balmer speaking to CNN said they have teamed up with some of the leading smart phone manufacturers like Qualcomm, Samsung, LG, HTC, HP, Dell, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba, and Garmin-Asus  who will manufacture smart phones loaded with windows 7 phone series.

Though the smart phone manufacturers can incorporate their own features depending upon the size and catogery but all winodws 7 based phones will have 4-point multi touch and a dedicated button for search engine(made Must by Microsoft).

The operating system will support special feature of  live updates  through which one can see their friends facebook updates just by scrolling through their contact names .

As mentioned earlier its has a tiles based interface and the screen will be  divided  into multiple tiles/hubs categorized as  people, pictures, games, marketplace, music and office and one can access live updates from the category of their choice  ,This feature reflects  the statement

“We wanted the software experience to fundamentally focus on what is most important to each individual user,” made by  Joe Belfiore -Microsoft’s corporate vice president

well we hope the same to happen but with black berry covering almost 42% share it wont be that easy as Microsoft is restricting manufacturers to have  Dedicated Bing button and Tiles based interface where as Android is giving flexibility to the manufacturers to modify the interface.
