This method will help you to receive your favorite tweets via SMS. It is useful for Indian users only. Are you interested in getting your favorite twitter tweets via sms? My trial and error method helped me to receive my favorite tweets via sms. There are many twitter sms services available from where you can update your twitter easily (Upcoming post at techgenuine) but getting tweets is little bit difficult.
Airtel has recently released SMS service for their user. It does cost you few bucks. If you want to save few bucks then you can use Google SMS channel. You must be aware of Google SMS channel. This method is especially useful for Indian users where Google SMS channel is available to use at no cost.
Here I will mention about keyword search on twitter. As an example I have considered “SEO”, “Twitter Tools”, “iphone”, “ipod” keywords. Have a look at below URL. This is a feed URL of twitter search based on mentioned twitter Continue reading →

There are obviously many things that you can do to for search engine optimization (SEO) but which should you focus on? Your time is valuable so I made a list of the top 5 things that you should do to maximize your time. In other words, why spend four hours on something when you can spend an hour on a task that should return 100x more value? Enough chatter, let’s get on the list:
- Write fresh content consistently! I’ve mentioned this in several previous posts, most recently at Blog about your niche. There is absolutely nothing more important than providing real value on your blog on a regular basis. So write, write, write. Set a goal of every other day or every weekday or every day. Just make sure you post useful information related to the theme of your blog a few times a week at a minimum. If your blog is about puppies, keep writing about puppies and skip the rant on politics.
- Make your titles relevant. Having good, catchy titles are great. Having good, catchy titles with keywords related to your post is even better. So if your post is about losing weight, instead of “Shedding your unwanted fat” you could go with “Shedding the extra weight: lose 10 pounds in a month safely”.
- Use keywords in your content. Don’t go crazy with this and scatter keywords unnecessarily (you will actually be penalized for that) but make sure you have some keywords in the body of your post. Imagine if I never actually wrote the words “search engine optimization” in this post, which is exactly what the post is about.
- Have a logical site structure. This is pretty automatic if you use a good blogging platform (e.g. blogger or wordpress.com). However, if you are using custom themes or running your own blog on a separate host, that may change things a bit. Just make sure that your blog structure is organized so your directories and pages are easy to understand.
- Use Google Analytics. It’s arguably the most useful analytical tool for your blog and it’s absolutely free! There’s no reason not to use Google Analytics. You can learn about where your visitors are from geographically, how long they are staying, what your traffic is this week compared to last week, how many other posts they are looking at, and much more. One important thing to monitor is which keywords are bringing them to your site. You could simply continue to utilize those keywords in future posts if you want to improve ranking for that niche.
None of this is groundbreaking. In fact, you should probably do these things for your readers anyway, not just for SEO purposes. And even though search engine algorithms change all the time, the aforementioned things to do have pretty much always been part of the core. It doesn’t mean you don’t need to do anything else either but if you only have time for 5 things, do these. Backlinks, keywords in the URL, tags/categories, directories, social networking, microblogging, and a bunch of other tactics will come in due time. Happy blogging!

Few days back I have mentioned about the “10 Most Popular Google chrome plugin/extensions for twitter users“. If you are like me who have installed many plugins in curiosity then you must have noticed the change in loading speed of the Google chrome browser. Experimenting too many plugins can cause a lot of problem like it slows down your browser considerably plus it takes hell lot of time at start up or the plugin fails to work at all. I searched at few places to find out the solution but couldn’t find out the way to uninstall the plugin. Continue reading →

Today is a great day for me. This is my 101th post and I feel so proud about my achievement. I had never thought that I can reach this milestone in a very short span (the post count is much higher as I’ve deleted some of my old posts). I will be very busy with my external exams from now on. Hence I am planning to close comments section so I don’t have to worry about the comments from my friends and reader (what is your opinion on that? Commenting takes lots of time and I cant afford to spend so much of time).
I would also like to mention that I have won a premium one-theme license and lifetime account. If you are looking for a premium theme then check out this post. The rules are really simple and the procedure of deciding the winner is straight forward. If you have more points you get the theme(no randomizer bulls**t ). Thank you Tinh for providing me one-theme license. I am waiting for my one theme.It will be active very soon on techgenuine.
Enough said about my life.Sorry I couldn’t include more posts as I was very busy this week. I have to stop the weekly link love party again as I want to provide the best stuff to my readers. Lets begin the party now.

First ever iPhone worm has spread all over the Australia. A hacker named ikex has created the first ever worm that affects only jailbroken iPhones. Jailbroken iPhones with default root password ‘alpine’ are targeted by this ikee worm which displays the image of “Rick Astley” with the message “ikee is never going to give you up“. If you see the image of “Rick Astley” as your wallpaper then your iPhone is probably affected by the “ikee” worm. The worst part of this worm is that it searches for the other iPhones in the network with default login “root” and password “alpine” and spreads it across the network.

ikee worm
Below is the guide for jailbroken iPhone users with OpenSSH installed.
1.Download “cydia mobile terminal” from here and install it on your iPhone.
2.Reboot your iPhone after successful installation of cydia mobile terminal software.
3.Start the Mobile Terminal application and type the following commands
“login”
and press enter(without double quote).Type
“root”
as your login and
“alpine”
as your password (without double quote).After logging in type
“passwd”
and press enter. It will ask you for new password. Enter your desired password twice. Now your iPhone is secured from ikee worm.

Mobile Terminal
I hope it helps to remove the ikee virus from your iphone.

I’ve been working on my new wordpress theme for quite a long. I thought creating the theme is a simple task but it turned out to be a time consuming and tough task for me. Before mentioning the features I would like to thanks some of my friends who helped me to design this theme. Karthikeyan of Blogrpro really helped me to decide the right color for the theme with some suggestions. Adarsh, steppinout, hackminded, Animesh have also contributed a lot. My special thanx goes to toptut.com from where I got the topbonus theme and I have implemented many of it’s function in the current wordpress theme.
Features:
- Lightweight fixed width wordpress theme with 1column right sidebar, 3column widgetized footer.
- The loading time has improved a lot.
- Recent comments hacks without any plugin.
- Recent posts hack without any plugin.
- Random posts hack without any plugin.
- Social bookmarking hack without any plugin thanx to steppinout
- Few http request which helped me to achieve better speed.
I am still working on the theme. It is still in beta mode. Related posts hack based on tag and category is implemented as the comment template is not showing the comments related to the post.
Meanwhile we have achieved some personal milestones like 1000 comments and 1lakh alexa ranking. I’ve also applied to the Google adsense today hoping to get approved this time as I have finished six months of blogging.
Let me know if you have any suggestion regarding the new theme. Which theme do you like to see here (current theme or the previous swift theme)?

Swift wordpress theme has achieved a lot during the short span. Swift theme boasts of it’s server friendly nature. It is one of the most fastest, SEO optimized, adsense ready theme with tabbed interface and feature posts slider all customizable from the admin panel. I have been using the swift theme for more than a month and my experience with the swift really good.
Why swift theme is server friendly?
Swift theme uses minimum number of images and external file hence there is a less number of HTTP requests which makes the themes unique and fastest among other competitors and yet it is a free premium theme.
Customization of swift theme:
As claimed by the developer the theme is server friendly but making the modification is little bit difficult. I will be posting series of swift theme customization based on my experience. This post will cover how to overcome the minimum 4 ad spots in the default swift theme
Add more ad spots Swift theme customization:
Open a sidebar.php file and look for the below code
<?php if ($swift_banner4destination){ ?>
<a href="<?php echo $swift_banner4destination;?>"
/><?php }?><?php if ($swift_banner4image){ ?><img src="
<?php echo $swift_banner4image; ?>"/></a><?php }?>
Now ad as many ad spots as you want. For our convenience we will ad 2 more ad spots (named banner5 and banner6).
<?php if ($swift_banner5destination){ ?>
<a href="<?php echo $swift_banner5destination;?>"
/><?php }?><?php if ($swift_banner5image){ ?><img src="
<?php echo $swift_banner5image; ?>"/></a><?php }?>
<?php if ($swift_banner6destination){ ?>
<a href="<?php echo $swift_banner6destination;?>"
/><?php }?><?php if ($swift_banner6image){ ?><img src="
<?php echo $swift_banner6image; ?>"/></a><?php }?>
Now copy the above code below the banner4 code and upload it to the server.
What are we doing here is we are creating two more ad spots in the default swift theme. Our next step should be to include these spots in the control panel as well.
Go to swift theme directory, then go to “includes”->”admin-functions” directory. Open the file “theme-options-init.php” file. This file contains all the necessary information that you can see in the swift theme options (the user interface). We need to create two ad spots as described above.
Look for the code below in “theme-options-init.php” file
$options[] = array( "name" => "Banner-4",
"desc" => "Enter your image url here",
"id" => $shortname."_banner4image",
"type" => "text");
$options[] = array( "name" => "Banner destination",
"desc" => "Enter destination url here",
"id" => $shortname."_banner4destination",
"type" => "text");
This is the code for your last ad banner. Now we need to create two more ad spots. Copy the codes given below.
$options[] = array( "name" => "Banner-5",
"desc" => "Enter your image url here",
"id" => $shortname."_banner5image",
"type" => "text");
$options[] = array( "name" => "Banner destination",
"desc" => "Enter destination url here",
"id" => $shortname."_banner5destination",
"type" => "text");
$options[] = array( "name" => "Banner-6",
"desc" => "Enter your image url here",
"id" => $shortname."_banner6image",
"type" => "text");
$options[] = array( "name" => "Banner destination",
"desc" => "Enter destination url here",
"id" => $shortname."_banner6destination",
"type" => "text");
Make sure that you paste the above code exactly in between the code given above and the code shown below
$options[] =array("type" => "close");
This will basically show two more ad spots in your swift theme options page. Upload the files to the appropriate directory. With this technique you can create as many ad spots as you want. All you have to do is to follow the above format properly.
Do you have any more questions? Feel free to ask us your questions regarding the swift theme. I’ll try my best to answer them. Meanwhile you can post your questions to swift theme forum as well.

“Content is the king” is an old theory. It doesn’t stand alone anymore. Whether you like it or not but you need to have an effective direct marketing skill to stand out in blogosphere. Definitely content is the only weapon that is going to help in the long term but besides that you need to build a community or audience to hear you. Here I’ve mentioned some effective ways to create a first impression to other blogger/readers.
1.Commenting: Blogosphere always like the talkative people. You need to shout to tell the people that you are here. Let them know that you also exist in the blogosphere. The best way to get recognized by other blogger is frequently commenting to his/her blog, by commenting I mean to say valuable comments or questioning other blogger. Useless or thanking comments won’t help much as other bloggers know that you are just spamming their comment section
.
You can also target commentluv enabled blog as they links back to your blog. You can also target keyword enabled blogs to earn a solid backlinks or keyword position. Make sure that you don’t spam this blog as they are more tend to get spam comments.
2.Cool blog design: How do you feel when you see a sexy/hot/gorgeous chick? Consider your blog design as a hot chick. Everybody wants to speak with hot chick. Good design and easy navigation not only helps you to get more page views but also helps you to get recognized by other blogger. It will create the first impression on their mind that this blogger has something in it. But again without good content everything fails.
3.First paragraph: Your first paragraph decides how your articles is going to be. Make sure that you put as many data and your effort in first paragraph. Make it controversial, make it lucrative, make it inviting, show off your knowledge in first para itself.
4.Forums: Forums are also good ways to drive more traffic. Try to be active on few forums. Try to answer other readers at the forum. It will definitely help you to create your own secret community. Keep in touch with the people who asked you some questions. If possible reply them via DM.
5.Contact other blogger: If you have any doubt then don’t hesitate to ask the fellow blogger about it. Believe me blogger loves to answer questions that are asked them personally. Learn how to write a good email that never fails to impress.
6.Help blogger to help you: Truly said “Sharing is caring” (A quote from sexybookmarks plugin). Stumble, digg, RT, share the post of other blogger on social networking site. It will help them to get good traffic. This is the by far the most easiest method to get recognized by other blogger. Don’t forget to remind them that you have shared their post with other.
7.Link love: Who doesn’t love to earn free links? Link love posts are best way to share good post from other blogger. Make a practice to write a link love post once in a month (preferably a week). Target few blogger and try to post their link on the top of the other (make a habit of rotating policy
).
8.Guest post: Guest posting has many advantages. By guest posting you can
- Earn solid backlink(s).
- More exposure of your blog to whole new world of readers.
- Get easily recognized by other blogger.
- Best way to drive some traffic.
- Chance to build a new community/network of your own
Always target a reputed or a blog with high PR/traffic for guest posting. It will not only increase your readers database but it can also earn you some solid backlinks which can help you to get good PR.
9.Sponsor a contest: This is the most difficult task as new blogger doesn’t have good amount in hand to sponsor a contest. Sponsoring a contest can help you to earn a link, increase the follower at twitter or other social network. Sponsoring a contest doesn’t have to be limited with cash award, you can provide a free ad space, link, entre card credit and lot more.
10.Write a review: Writing a good review of your favorite website with link back is another good option to get noticed by the fellow blogger. Write a constructive criticism, suggestion instead of being harsh on other blogger.
11.Alexa review: There is a latest trend in a blogopshere to write an Alexa review on the blog. Be the part of this latest trend to get recognized by other bloggers.
I’m sure you are having some more solid points in your mind. Don’t be shy. Share your thought with us here. I’ll include it in the post with a link love to your blog
.
