Top 5 things to do for your SEO

There are obviously many things that you can do to for search engine optimization (SEO) but which should you focus on? Your time is valuable so I made a list of the top 5 things that you should do to maximize your time. In other words, why spend four hours on something when you can spend an hour on a task that should return 100x more value? Enough chatter, let’s get on the list:

  1. Write fresh content consistently! I’ve mentioned this in several previous posts, most recently at Blog about your niche. There is absolutely nothing more important than providing real value on your blog on a regular basis. So write, write, write. Set a goal of every other day or every weekday or every day. Just make sure you post useful information related to the theme of your blog a few times a week at a minimum. If your blog is about puppies, keep writing about puppies and skip the rant on politics.
  2. Make your titles relevant. Having good, catchy titles are great. Having good, catchy titles with keywords related to your post is even better. So if your post is about losing weight, instead of “Shedding your unwanted fat” you could go with “Shedding the extra weight: lose 10 pounds in a month safely”.
  3. Use keywords in your content. Don’t go crazy with this and scatter keywords unnecessarily (you will actually be penalized for that) but make sure you have some keywords in the body of your post. Imagine if I never actually wrote the words “search engine optimization” in this post, which is exactly what the post is about.
  4. Have a logical site structure. This is pretty automatic if you use a good blogging platform (e.g. blogger or wordpress.com). However, if you are using custom themes or running your own blog on a separate host, that may change things a bit. Just make sure that your blog structure is organized so your directories and pages are easy to understand.
  5. Use Google Analytics. It’s arguably the most useful analytical tool for your blog and it’s absolutely free! There’s no reason not to use Google Analytics. You can learn about where your visitors are from geographically, how long they are staying, what your traffic is this week compared to last week, how many other posts they are looking at, and much more. One important thing to monitor is which keywords are bringing them to your site. You could simply continue to utilize those keywords in future posts if you want to improve ranking for that niche.

None of this is groundbreaking. In fact, you should probably do these things for your readers anyway, not just for SEO purposes. And even though search engine algorithms change all the time, the aforementioned things to do have pretty much always been part of the core. It doesn’t mean you don’t need to do anything else either but if you only have time for 5 things, do these. Backlinks, keywords in the URL, tags/categories, directories, social networking, microblogging, and a bunch of other tactics will come in due time. Happy blogging!

Monthly Traffic Report

Many of my blogger friends asked me to share my traffic report. To be frank I am not doing great as a blogger. The traffic is not something to boast about. Usually I don’t share my traffic as I do not like to do that plus this is not a personal blog. Continue reading →

Weekly Link Love Party-Blogging Tips,Wordpress Theme,Blogengage

Today is a great day for me. This is my 101th post and I feel so proud about my achievement. I had never thought that I can reach this milestone in a very short span (the post count is much higher as I’ve deleted some of my old posts). I will be very busy with my external exams from now on. Hence I am planning to close comments section so I don’t have to worry about the comments from my friends and reader (what is your opinion on that? Commenting takes lots of time and I cant afford to spend so much of time).

I would also like to mention that I have won a premium one-theme license and lifetime account. If you are looking for a premium theme then check out this post. The rules are really simple and the procedure of deciding the winner is straight forward. If you have more points you get the theme(no randomizer bulls**t ). Thank you Tinh for providing me one-theme license. I am waiting for my one theme. It will be active very soon on techgenuine.

Enough said about my life.Sorry I couldn’t include more posts as I was very busy this week. I have to stop the weekly link love party again as I want to provide the best stuff to my readers. Lets begin the party now.

15 Free Google Wave Invitation Giveaway

Google has generously provided me 16 free Google wave invites to share with my readers (Google’s own way to say thanks to its users for thanksgiving day). I am not an active user on Google wave so this offer really surprised me a bit. My eye popped out when I saw the invitation message in my Google wave inbox (hehehe). Continue reading →

5 Ways To Tweet In Other Languages On Twitter

It has always been a dilemma for me to use twitter/tweet in other languages. If you are one of my twitter follower then you must have noticed that I always try different twitter tools and services to improve my tweets and conversation ratio. If you are looking a way to improve your twitter conversation ratio the you can follow me on twitter from here.

Twitter is planning to integrate language option in their API but why do you want to wait when you already have some tools that can help you to tweet in your regional languages. It is always advisable to target users according to the region or language they speak. Here I am listing  five such tools that will help you to tweet in other languages.

Twitter In Other Languages Like Hindi

Twitter In Other Languages Like Hindi

Twitter in different languages

1.Twitlan: Twitlan is one of the best and the first website that lets you tweet in different languages. Currently  it supports 81 different languages. Indian users will be glad to know that many Indian languages are supported by twitlen.

2.Quillpad: Quillpad is very helpful for Indian users as it supports only Indian languages. All you need to do is to type your tweet in your language (in English. ex aap kaise ho?) and it will convert it into your chosen language, just copy-paste that message to twitter and tweet it.

3.Twitrans: Twitrans converts your tweet into the desired language (only 14 languages are supported). To use this service you need to use short codes of the language to translate into the desired language (ex @twitrans en2hi I want to type this message in hindi). You can check those short codes at their website. In the above example the twitrans converts English language tweet into Hindi language. I personally don’t like this service as it takes lot of time to translate the tweets.

4.Wakooz: Wakooz uses Google translator service to convert your tweets into other language tweets. It doesn’t take much time as it is using a Google translator. I personally recommend this service to our readers.

5.Google Translator: Well I guess I do not need to say more about this service as you must be aware of this service. Convert your twitter tweets into any language using Google translator and then copy it into twitter message bar and push the button.

Let us know if you have come across any other services like above. Have you tried the above services?
