Google’s URL shortner service is becoming more and more poplar as it is developed by none other then god Google. As you might already know that Goo.gl can also be used from feed burner or google toolbar to shorten the URL of any post.
To be frank I have never used it personally (except from feed-burner which automatically tweets about new post on the twitter). As Goo.gl is taken care by god Google I am sure it will be famous very soon. Google is known for its quality and innovative products. As it is developed by Google it is very secure.

There is an add-on available for Firefox as well as Google’s chrome web browser which lets you shorten the URL without the need of google’s toolbar. This add on creates a short URL and copy it to the clipboard. You can also use it to send it directly to the twitter as it also gives you the option to tweet this URL directly to your twitter account.

i have not used it yet, but i guess it will be more safe to use a tinyurl service from Google than any other such providers because you never know when a tiny url service is shut down making all the tiny links of yours dead, trusting Google for the same is lot safer
