In December Avast antivirus developers added Google chromes browser installation option with its antivirus package. The latest version of avast gives you the option to install Google chromes with its antivirus which was a strategic move by them. Most of the people were expecting Google to return the favor.
Google pack offers best free packages with it. It includes picasa,skype,spyware doctor and other Google’s product like chromes browser, Google earth and few others. Avira, Microsoft security essential and avast were one of the best anti virus of the year 2009. Especially Avast antivirus software got better detection rate in later half of 2009.

With this strategic move of Google, Avast antivirus will get huge boost in its efforts. Unfortunately avast is available in few selected languages only. It is supported in Italian,French,German,Czech,Spanish,Polish,Russia,Portuguese languages. It is not available yet in English language pack which is very shocking. The English version lets you download Spyware Doctor with antivirus. More or less this is a win win situation for both Google and Avast.

Personally I find Microsoft Security Essentials to be much better then Avast.
Avast 5 could change things, but the current beta is write off when it comes to detections.

Even I use MSE but I doubt that Google will ever include it in their Google pack. I guess you know what I mean.
