Twitter Got Hacked By Iranian Cyber Army

by Ricky on December 18, 2009

Don’t be surprised after reading this title. Twitter has been one of the soft target for many spammers for a while now. On Thursday twitter was completely down for few hours. When I checked the website it was inaccessible for me. After further digging I came to know that the microblogging site has been hacked by few Iranian cyber army group (who are they actually?). Twitter has been defaced by Iranian cyber group.

It was the shocking news as twitter is one of the most popular microblogging website and one of the most famous word of 2009. With the recent incidence will twitter be able to explain why it had been hacked or why it was down for few hours?

Twitter got hacked by Iranian Cyber Army

Internet security has been major concerned for past few years. After getting big fish in the net I hope the Iranian cyber army will get the major thrust in their activity. Is it an end or the beginning or beginning of an end?

If you are using twitter then you should change your password as a security measure or if possible avoid using twitter for a while. One thing I would like to mention that whatever the reason is one can not claim that his/her website is safe from the hacker after this incidence.

Update: Twitter is now in his normal condition.

Back to the reader:

Do you still feel that Internet is a safe place for? Twitter had few problems with security in past as well. Will it be able to recover from it?

Do

Amazing that I missed all this. Makes you wonder what it was all about? Just a bit of publicity for the hackers, and if so what have they to gain by it?

:D that is hysterical ! does it really matter whether one is from Iran or Zimbabwe ? I think not . What matters is : That an individual or group of individuals had the skill & know how of how to tap into and take down a major site for the amount of time which they did . Hackers are usually kids in H.S or J.H.S who are bored out of their minds and have way too much time & knowledge on their hands -and they hate adults ! :D I would like to share w you the once personal website of one of the greatest Hackers ( he is now an accomplished Developer/ Programmer & the Exec CEO of his own major company ) , but this was his page when he was around 16 MANIFESTO and this is his Info page where you can track what the boy has become ADAM , there are many links detailing his journey, and trust me : this is one very intelligent man w/ a great philosophy who is a motivational speaker now amongst many other things . Here is his final Online RESUME , Im certain you will find it quite impressive , I know I did when I came across it a few years ago . Therefore : what this ‘ kid ‘ or group of ‘ kids ‘ did in Iran – just goes to show that one day , in the not too distant future , they will end up being the Adam L. Beberg’s of tomorrow . If this had been a Terrorist Group who had sinister intentions , I dont believe they would have set their sights on Twitter- they would have set as their target the Pentagon in the US ( * I know I would ! ;) ) . Take care my dear friend :D

This means, that one day, out of boredom probably, these kids might pick randomly among the sites in the web, let’s say your blog because they saw your account in twitter. “Hey guys, let’s mess up this guy’s blog for the fun of it!”

If such a huge thing as twitter could become helpless with these kids’ onslaught, how would we fare when it’s our turn?
